Why genuine DNP media matters
The RFID chip on the roll is not there to limit your choice. It serves three operational purposes: the printer reads the number of prints remaining, the finish type and the colour calibration parameters. Without this data, maintaining repeatable print quality or planning stock sensibly is simply not possible.
Third-party media without the chip will not start in the DS620 printer at all. Attempts to bypass the system end in device errors, risk of thermal head damage and loss of warranty. This is a safeguard that works in the buyer's favour.

Does this paper fit other DNP printers?
No. The 15×20 cm paper in the DS620 version has a width of 152 mm and fits only printers from the DS620 series. The 8-inch printers (DS820, DS820DX) use paper that is 203 mm wide, and the DS-RX1HS and QW410 use paper of different widths.
Which software works best with the DS620 and this paper?
The DS620 supports the standard Hot Folder Print Utility from DNP, which automatically queues jobs from a folder on disk.
